Week 12 Start Em’ Sit Em’: Quarterbacks

Loc’d In Start Em’ Sit Em’ Week 12: your top QBs like Kyler Murray, Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, etc are excluded from this. We’re going to key in on the other guys. Beginning with 3 start QBs and 1 Dart throw QB based on matchups, opportunities, weapons, and build from there. 💯

Last week we would have had a chance to be 100% on starts had it not been for the gruesome Joe Burrow. 3 of 4 is good as well, 75%. Lock in!

START: Derek Carr vs ATL

After going toe to toe with Patrick Mahomes, Derek Carr was having an amazing day with the passing game. Involving the entire offense and spreading the ball almost to perfection before the game sealing INT. This week he has the Falcons that allow the most points to opposing quarterbacks. They allowed a 76% completion rate to Taysom Hill last week and should leave plenty of room for the Raiders through the air off the play action. Great start here for Carr and Gruden to build on the passing game while fighting for the wild card spot in the AFC.

START: Cam Newton vs ARI

In a losing effort last week Cam proved he can still throw the ball. This week facing Kyler Murray and co. the patriots are expected to be playing from behind Cam is going to have to do Superman things this week to compete against the Cardinals defense who have given up 2 passing touchdowns each in the past 3 games. With the additional rushing upside at the goal line, look for Cam to be responsible for most of not all of the Patriots scores this week in an offensive game. START

START: Taysom Hill vs DEN

Listed as a sleeper last week, Hill proved to be a viable option at quarterback if not long term atleast for the rest of his starts until Brees gets back with matchups against the Broncos & Falcons in the next two weeks. When usually a QB would check down Hill had the mobility to get out the pocket and extend plays which equals rushing yards. With two rushing touchdowns and a big passing touchdown called back by penalty in his first start, look for Hill to add on to his fantasy breakout in a game that Vegas totals at 43.5 against a defense that gave up 30+ points in 4 of their last 5 games.

DART THROW OF THE WEEK: Baker Mayfield vs JAX

Usually starting Baker Mayfield is never a good idea but there are things to consider heading into the matchup against the Jaguars this week. Here’s 5 reasons why you’d be justified taking a shot on Mayfield this week.

1) It’s the Jaguars ranked bottom of the league against opposing quarterbacks and not only that, but they’re without 3 defensive coaches this week including Defensive Coordinator Todd Wash.

2) Although he hasn’t scored a touchdown in 3 games he’s also played in poor weather conditions throughout all three games and this will be the first time clear skies and next to no wind will be in his favor.

3) He has something to prove if he wants to continue being a starter in this league and this could serve as a “I belong here” statement game for those who still doubt the Browns belong in the playoffs.

4) His receivers are getting separation on the outside which means the opportunity is right there in front of him.

5) The run game will be dominant in this fair weather and open up play action where Baker has found most of his success with Stefanski thus far.

Now obviously this is only in desperation or in DFS, but if you need a win this week and you just lost Burrow or didn’t get a chance to pick up Taysom Hill. It may be worth a shot to start him.

Sleepers: Alex Smith vs DAL, Matthew Stafford vs HOU, and Matt Ryan vs LV

Week 12 Start Em’ Sit Em: Wide Recievers

LOC’D IN Wide receiver Start Em’ Sit Em’s are based on matchups, target shares, quarterback play, scoring opportunities, and DFS ownership probabilities.

Last week, week 11, we hit on 6 out of 7 wide receiver calls with the sleepers booming. 85% lets keep it rolling into the playoffs! (Obvious starts such as Tyreek Hill, Devante Adams, and DK Metcalf are excluded.

START: Michael Pittman Jr vs TEN

Just 3 weeks ago the Colts were desperate for playmakers at the receiver position, the past two weeks Pittman Jr. has emerged as a top receiving threat for Phillip Rivers. In the first meetup with the Titans being less than 2 weeks ago, Pittman’s confident and coming in with a full head of steam for yet another great showing on the opposite side of TY Hilton. START

START: Curtis Samuel vs MIN

Matt Rhule and PJ Walker had great success shutting out the Lions this Sunday. Now they face the Vikings that give up an average of 2 passing touchdowns and the 6th most completed passes per game. Look for Curtis Samuel to get a good share of those high opportunity plays while ranking top 25 in both red zone targets (22nd) and yards after the catch (20th). Even if Bridgewater comes back this week, START.

START: Nelson Agholor vs ATL

Averaging nearly 3 fantasy points (2.74) per target Agholor is key to Derek Carr’s confidence this year. Coming off a great effort against Kansas City look for Las Vegas to come out the gates swinging on the Falcons this week. The Falcons secondary ranks 2nd worst against opposing wide receivers while allowing big games to number one recievers. Agholor is the top threat not named Josh Jacobs or Darren Waller and is making the most out of the volume he’s getting. START

SIT: AJ Green vs NY

Though he’s had somewhat of a comeback year, the injury to Joe Burrow is going to be devastating to the Bengals offense and mainly to the recievers. After going down the offense only moved 30 yards through the air with Ryan Finley. Brandon Allen the practice squad QB is starting this week against the Giants defense is upper middle of the league (15th) already against opposing recievers. If possible it’s best to wait this week out to see how the offense plays out before starting any part of it. SIT

Week 11 Start Em’ Sit Em’: Tight Ends

LOC’D IN Start Em’ Sit Em: Aside from top TE’s Travis Kelce & Darren Waller, we’re going to focus on 2 START EM tight ends based on plus matchups, target share, and scoring opportunities.

START: Logan Thomas vs CIN

In a season where decent tight ends are hard to come by, Logan Thomas has had atleast 5 targets or a touchdown through his past four games. With Alex Smith under center his success should continue this week against a Bengals team that cant help but give up big plays to opposing tight ends. Although Ebron (mostly because of a surplus of Steeler weapons) only caught two of six passes against them last week they give up the third most tight end yards and the sixth most tight end receptions according to Yahoo! Fantasy. Being a top threat on the Football Team’s offense will bode well this week. START

START: Hayden Hurst vs NO

Since leaving Baltimore in the offseason Hurst has hide a quietly great season with the Falcons. With atleast 7 targets in the past 3 games he faces the Saints for their first meeting of the season in a game that should stay competitive throughout. With Ridley returning from injury his target share may lower but he’s still a reliable option when Ryan’s top threats are covered. This should be an above average START in PPR formats.

START: TJ Hockenson vs CAR

With De’Andre Swift and Kenny Golladay being ruled out for week 11, Hockenson aka mini Kittle should see an increase of targets. The Panthers have allowed atleast 50+ yards in the last 3 weeks and 2 touchdowns to tight ends in that span. As a #2 (maybe even #1) on the pecking order behind Marvin Jones, Hockenson has a huge opportunity to be the X Factor in this injury riddled matchup where the defense is vulnerable to tight ends. Long story short, even Cameron Brate scored on this defense last week. START START START.

Week 11 Start Em’ Sit Em’: Running Backs

Loc’d In Start Em’ Sit Em’: Aside from the obvious, Dalvin Cook, Derrick Henry, Alvin Kamara, we’re going to Lock in on 3 Starts and just 1 Dart throw based on matchups, opportunity, game script and build from there. 💯

-November 19th, 2020-

START: D’Andre Swift vs CAR

🚨🚨UPDATE🚨🚨 D’Andre Swift is OUT. Due to concussion, fade the lions backfield.

-November 21st, 2020-

It’s finally Swift season. The former Georgia Bulldog seemingly grabbed the reins of the backfield last game logging 73% of snaps against the Football team where he was also targeted 5 times in the passing game totaling 68 yards and a TD through the air. The Panthers may be playing without Bridgewater this game so their offense my be limited (barring a PJ Walker breakout game). Either way the Panthers just gave up 210 yards on the ground to TB and average 133 on the year to opposing offenses. With Peterson & Johnson taking the back seat, look for Swift to continue his success in this Lions offense week 11. Must start 💯%.

START: Mike Davis vs Det

With the Injury to McCaffrey & now Bridgewater questionable, facing the Detroit Lions giving up 7 rushing touchdowns in the past 3 weeks to opposing running backs and the most yards per game on the season, Mike Davis is going to be relied on heavily for the Panthers. The pass catching ability only adds fuel to the fire and case that Davis will be mini McCaffrey once again to keep this game competitive vs a defense giving up 4.7 touchdowns per game (ranked worst in the league). Mike Davis is a set it, leave it. Start of the week.

START: Nyheim Hines vs GB

It looks like it’s time to move on until further notice on preseason fan favorite Jonathon Taylor. Nyheim Hines has looked like the most explosive back in this Indianapolis Colts run & passing game. It could be matchup dependent and the fact that last Thursday was his birthday, but so far Hines has proven to be the man in favorable matchups. This week they have another one in the near bottom ranked defense against RB’s the past 4 weeks with 20 catches, 564 total yards and 5 total TD’s. The passing game is where Hines excels over his backfield mates, look for Hines to be a RB1 in PPR formats this week. START.

SIT: Ronald Jones vs LA

Although he got a second chance to go 98 yards for a touchdown after his fumble last week, it was against the Panthers and the Rams are a much tougher matchup here. The weather is supposed to be wet and the Rams rank 4th best in the league allowing an average of only 72 rushing yards per game over the last three weeks. (And that’s in good weather). The last poor weather game against a stout defense that we saw the Bucs in didn’t turn out too hot, (see NO vs. TB week 9) it’d be best to fade the Tampa backfield if possible in this one.

Sleepers: Rex Burkhead vs HOU, Kalen Ballage vs NYJ, Salvon Ahmed vs DEN

Week 11 Start Em’ Sit Em’: Quarterbacks

Loc’d In Start Em’ Sit Em’: Obviously you’re going to start your top QBs like Kyler Murray, Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, etc so we’re going to key in on the other guys. Beginning with 3 start QBs and 1 Dart throw QB on the week based on matchups, opportunities, weapons, and build from there. 💯

-November 19th, 2020-

START: Ben Roethlisberger vs JAX

No wonder everyone calls him Big Ben… when was the last time you’ve had to spell out Roethlisberger? Not that easy. What does seem easy is the way Ben has been spreading the ball in recent weeks. Throwing for 1,089 yards, 11 TDS and just 3 interceptions through the past 4 weeks, Big Ben faces his 3rd plus matchup this week against the Jags who are giving up nearly 300 passing yards and an average passer rating of 107.8 which is the 2nd highest in the league behind only the Texans at 109. Big Ben has been on a mission with something to prove this year, with the run game being secondary in Pittsburgh. Ben Roethlisberger is a solid start this week.

START OF THE WEEK: Justin Herbert vs NY JETS

Equipped with a fresh new haircut giving by his strength and conditioning coach, and off a close loss to a fellow rookie. Justin Herbert has a chance for a huge statement game against the 0-9 Jets. They give up the 3rd most passing yards in the league so Anthony Lynn and the Chargers can take this as an opportunity to regain some confidence through the air while also (hopefully) gaining his second win as an NFL starter. He locks in and quiets the media haircut talk this week. 100% Must start.

START: Joe Burrow vs WAS

Leading the league in drop backs and on pace to break the rookie record for pass attempts this season Joe Burrow is back on the map as a fantasy QB1 this week against the team without a mascot. Although their defensive line is something to worry about Burrow is getting more comfortable behind a shaky line not turning over the ball against the Steelers defense last week while missing the 2 O-linemen returning this week. The Football Team just gave up 30 points to the Detroit Lions and have an average of 24 points per game to opposing offenses. His ability to extend the play & Joe Mixon possibly returning to the line up this week will put Burrow & co. in a great position for fantasy success throwing their way back in a game where they’re the 6 point underdogs.

Dart throw of the week: Joe Flacco vs LA

A sneaky spot play here, for five reasons.

1) They’re going to be playing catch up which equals a lot of pass attempts and opportunity for big plays even deep into the 4th quarter .

2) Joe Flacco is coming off the best game of their season against the Patriots in week 9, followed by a bye where he practices with the 1’s while Sam Darnold is out.

4) The Chargers are bottom tier against the pass allowing an average of 2 passing touchdowns a game.

3) After ditching their top running backs (Le’Veon Bell & Kalen Ballage) for the Perine experience, so the Jets have an opportunity to showcase what their young receiving group can do for them with a good quarterback off the play action.

5) Playing him expecting average/above average play at a price tag of $5,000 in DFS would leave you cap space for some of the more costly skill positions in week 11. (Jamison Crowder boom game??🚨)

Sleepers: Taysom Hill vs ATL, Cam Newton vs HOU

Week 11 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em: Wide Recievers

Loc’d In Start Em’ Sit Em’: we’re going to key in on 3 Starts and just 1 Sit based on matchups, trends, target share, and build from there. 💯

-November 18th, 2020-

START: Jakobi Meyers vs. HOU.

The high-school quarterback turned wide receiver has emerged as the top receivers in the absence of Julian Edelman & N’Keal Harry and seems to have a stronghold on his role in the offense. Facing the Houston Texans defense this week ranked 10th against wide receivers giving up 13 touchdowns to them through 10 games, Meyers is primed for another high floor/boom type outing as Cam’s favorite target. Even Cam himself mentioned that his prior QB knowledge makes him fun and easy to rely on. Last week they even went as far as to letting him throw the ball into the endzone. Fun play. Expect a lot of volume. Definition of a must start week.

START: Christian Kirk vs. SEA.

With the world watching DeAndre Hopkins it’d be a no brained to start him against one of the worst pass defenses in the league. From Legion of Boom to Legion of Make-Room-There’s-A-Reciever-Coming-Through The Cardinals and Seahawks are meeting for the second time in a key divisional matchup. The first matchup went for the over with a 61 point total, and Kirk had 8 catches & two touchdowns that game with all the attention mostly on Hopkins. It helps when you can work the field as a number 2 behind one of the greats. (look at 2019 Michael Gallup) There’s enough catches to go around, he’s proven successful against this team, reliable hands… If K1 is throwing dimes like he did last week, this should be a great spot for a Kirk. Start ‘Em.

START: Mike Williams vs Jets

Fantasy owners are probably off of Williams because of his lack of involvement here and there throughout this season. One thing remains true though, all he knows is Go Get It. Last week would have been another solid outing if an accurate ball was placed on him wide open in the back of the endzone. With Super Bowl Joe back undercenter in what could be a sneakily high scoring game. Look for Herbert to bounce back big and make it up to his all or nothing receiver with another TD this week. The not so bold prediction, start em 🚨. (Keenan Allen is a must start as well for those wondering)

SIT: Jerry Jeudy vs MIA

Contrary to prior years Miami’s defense in 2020 is legit. Although they rank 16th against WR’s which is mid tier the only teams that found success through the air on them were teams with mobile quarterbacks… For example Russel Wilson(2), Josh Allen(4), and Kyler Murray(3) all had touchdowns through the air. Drew Lock is not that… coming off a touchdown-less game and if it weren’t for 4th quarter comebacks his last 5 outings were just as bad with only 6 TD passes & 10 interceptions. The Bronco’s offense is running like a car with two blown tires, until Drew Lock can fix accuracy and get a run game that will force defenses to respect the run, Jeudy’s only going to benefit against weak defenses. This dolphins team is the complete opposite. Sit ‘Em and take a shot elsewhere more comfortably.
